mitresThe Diocese of Worcester and New England
is under the omophorion of His Eminence Metropolitan PHILIP in the Self-Ruled Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.

Our Diocese was created in 2004 following the historic decision of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Antioch to grant autonomous status to the Antiochian Orthodox Church in North America and recognize it as a Self-Ruled local Church. The former regional system of the Archdiocese was then converted to a Diocesan structure and the New England Region became the Diocese of Worcester and New England. The Diocesan Cathedral is St. George in Worcester. The Diocese has yet to elect a local bishop and His Eminence Metropolitan Philip serves as the Episcopal overseer for New England. Our Diocese consists of nine parishes and one mission served by twelve priests and seven deacons.
